The traditional Japanese room provided a serene atmosphere, enhanced by the indoor and open-air bath options. Highlights included the delicious local course meals and the breathtaking views, especially from the rooftop onsen. However, the property feels a bit remote, which may not suit everyone, and some areas of the room showed wear. Additionally, the overall experience could be improved with more attentive service during peak times.

We had an amazing time at this ryokan with close friends! The private onsen in our room had stunning mountain views, and the traditional kaiseki dinner was a highlight for all of us. Don't forget to check out the public rooftop onsen for a unique experience.
One downside was the limited service during our busy dinner time, which felt a bit rushed.

Just a solid selection for a temporary stay in Takayama with very good value for money. The open-air onsen experience was enjoyable, especially under the snowy sky. Consider packing extra layers as it can get chilly inside.
